About the role

This is a pre-Partner position in Elevation’s SaaS practice with active  involvement in all aspects of the Fund’s investments, operations and  strategy. In this role, you will independently source interesting early stage tech opportunities and work directly with the Partners to  execute and manage investment portfolios.

Role responsibilities

Thesis building

  • Drive research and analysis to shape investment themes and investigate emerging trends for investments in SaaS

Deal sourcing

  • Meet entrepreneurs, manage pipeline and build relationships with angel investors, other venture capital firms, and accelerators/incubators

Deal execution

  • Conduct commercial diligence (i.e., assessing a market, company, and founding team)
  • Formulate and present investment cases to the investment committee
  • Manage the execution of term sheets, cap tables, legal and financial diligence, long-form investment documents, etc.

Portfolio management

  • Represent the fund in the Board Meetings of portfolio companies
  • Build strong relationships with portfolio founders, and become their thought partners
  • Monitor financial / operating metrics and industry dynamics of portfolio
  • Assist with recruiting and fund raising

Prerequisites and qualifications

  • A team player, curious self-starter with proven ability to think critically and work independently
  • Ability to network and aggressively source new deals in a competitive market
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to distill complex details into concise, easy to understand takeaways
  • Having a point of view on emerging technologies, trends and business models in SaaS is a strong positive
  • Manage and mentor analyst and other junior team members
  • 5+ years of product management experience and/or prior role in venture investing
